We've been appointed to Network Rail’s Control Period 6 (CP6) framework for the Western Region – Lot 1. The framework will span the entirety of CP6 (2019–2024) with an option of a one-year extension if required.

Lot 1 covers Buildings and Civil Engineering works consisting of renewals, enhancements and reactive schemes with likely work encompassing M&E, signalling, telecoms, track, electrification and plant. The diverse portfolio forms part of the CP6 Western route strategic plan and will see work take place throughout the Western region.

Morgan Sindall Infrastructure has had previous project experience in this region, including the design and build of Paddington Station Spans 1–3 Roof Refurbishment and work carried out on Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) as part of the Great Western Route Modernisation (GWRM).

Worth an overall potential total of £200 million - each commission contract issued through the CP6 framework is valued between £4 million and £30 million with the potential for a volume of work across the initial five years and beyond.

Key focuses for the framework include heightened efficiency, integrated supply chain arrangements and a drive towards innovation and providing opportunities for SMEs, social enterprises and local businesses. This approach is aligned with Morgan Sindall Infrastructure’s corporate objectives and commitments for the framework.

The contract is due to begin immediately with the first commission contracts expected to be allocated shortly.
