Lead Commissioning Engineer - Control Systems
Role Description:
An Experienced Control Systems Lead Engineer to provide Lead Engineer Level support to a commissioning team on a major Project.
Provide leadership for full support to all activities in the Control Systems delivery from design through testing to end product and eventual handover to the operations department. Leading and coaching others to achieve results.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and Support to the production and review of LifeTime Records (LTR) and test documentation.
- Lead on assurance from design & build, LTR to Commissioning. Supporting all activities leading to successful end of Client Acceptance testing, Panel Integration & Integrated Works Testing.
- Ability to understand Design documentation, User Requirements, Validation & Verification plans, Functional Specifications, Software System & System Definition Specifications.
- Lead and Provide oversight/support to all commissioning test activities including some at offsite locations.
- Ensure that simple system modifications are approved and implemented to support commissioning activities.
- Lead the delivery of commissioning test activities, and support fault finding and problem solving.
- Support Commissioning Section Leader carrying out duties and responsibilities for the successful delivery of all plant control systems.
- Lead and assure all Configuration Management and Change Control, with support from others.
Essentials:
- Control Systems, instrumentation, CE&I or software background
- Possess a sound knowledge of PLC & SCADA systems
- Experience of delivery of commissioning scope.
- Ability to lead work in an operating plant environment delivering interrogation, testing activities and minor modifications.
- Demonstrable evidence of working in teams and providing a lead role.
- Ability to deliver breakdown support and recovery in a timely manner
- Willing to work away from site for periods of time to support testing activities.
- Qualification and/or suitable experience.
Desirables:
- HNC/Level 4 qualification in relevant discipline and able to present qualification certification.
- Have nuclear sector experience, including working within large scale projects.
- Experience in setting to work of new systems
