We have a superb opportunity within our Nuclear business for an ambitious and talented Senior Environmental Advisor. In this role, you will provide expert advice and leadership on environmental performance, ensuring the continuous improvement of our projects and operations. Working closely with all departments, you will be key in minimising risks, ensuring compliance with ISO14001 standards, and driving sustainability initiatives across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide environmental guidance and support at all levels to mitigate company risks.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the environmental elements of our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring ISO14001 certification is maintained.
  • Lead inspections, audits, and investigations, reporting on findings and implementing improvements.
  • Support the development of environmental strategies and action plans aligned with corporate requirements.
  • Collaborate with the pre-contract and work-winning teams to ensure environmental considerations are included in proposals and project plans.
  • Lead the training of staff and contractors to maintain high environmental standards and legal compliance.
  • Monitor and review the performance of the advisor team, ensuring continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant environmental subject.
  • Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards chartered status (MIEMA).
  • Internal auditing qualifications and knowledge of ISO14001 Environmental Management Systems.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, with knowledge of construction practices and standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough understanding of environmental legislation and best practices.

The alliance is mainly aimed at protecting and developing the utility assets; however, it also has scope for a number of non-utility asset projects as well.
