Summary

The Project Quality Engineer supports framework project delivery teams by developing and implementing a Project Quality Plan. This role ensures compliance with specified requirements through a "right first time" approach, promotes 'Perfect Delivery,' and drives continuous improvement by supporting the Quality Senior Leadership Team in the rollout of the transformation plan.

 

Key Objectives

  1. Assist in developing a Quality Plan aligned with the Collaborative Management Plan (CMP).
  2. Promote 'Perfect Delivery' and ensure quality through proactive engagement with inspection teams.
  3. Ensure compliance with specified requirements, with timely production of lifetime records.
  4. Foster a proactive quality culture to support efficient and effective programme milestones.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Support and monitor compliance with the Quality Plan, escalating issues as needed.
  • Recommend halting operations when quality control standards are compromised.
  • Assist in developing Quality Plans and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Collaborate with inspection teams to align with the ISA Inspection Strategy.
  • Promote and monitor the use of Non-Conformance Reports (via MS SHEQ Tracker).
  • Support digital solutions such as digital inspections.
  • Attend project and subcontractor meetings, contributing to quality risk mitigation.
  • Ensure quality requirements are integrated into project documentation and vendor assessments.
  • Collaborate with project teams to maintain compliance within the supply chain.
  • Facilitate development of quality deliverables such as LTR Strategies and Quality Trackers.
  • Maintain and update quality-related actions and provide real-time progress updates.
  • Deliver toolbox talks and engage with manufacturers/suppliers to upskill teams.
  • Support project reviews and Learning from Experience (LFE) workshops.

Qualifications & Training

  • Preferred: HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering or Quality-related subject.
  • Lead auditor qualification.
  • Basic Site Clearance; SC clearance required for work within HSA fence.
  • CQI Chartered Membership or progress towards it.

In-Post Training Requirements:

  • Mandatory ISA training.
  • Complete perception of risk course within six months of receiving P4 pass.

Technical Skills, Knowledge, and Experience

  • Experience in a quality role within regulated industries (e.g., Nuclear, Energy, Oil & Gas, Construction).
  • Preferred: Alliance or partnership experience; engineering background.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards, and methods.
