The Opportunity – Senior Legal Counsel (Infrastructure)

We’re looking for a pragmatic and commercially minded Senior Legal Counsel with strong NEC experience and a passion for enabling infrastructure to thrive through sound legal guidance. Reporting to our Head of Legal, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how legal risk is managed across our Infrastructure division—working at pace, with autonomy, and as a true partner to the business.

This is a unique opportunity to work across high-value, complex infrastructure contracts in a business that values proactivity, judgement, and clear, solution-oriented thinking. You’ll advise on legal strategy, manage risk, support commercial decisions, and help build scalable legal frameworks that match our ambitious goals.

What You’ll Do:

Lead the review and negotiation of NEC-based infrastructure contracts and associated legal documentation.
Support commercial colleagues on bids, tenders, and project delivery matters.
Provide legal input on a wide range of areas, from framework agreements to sub-contracts, collateral warranties, compliance, and governance.
Shape risk management and compliance frameworks, and support training and education across the business.
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to manage legal spend and strengthen delivery.
Be an active contributor to our legal team’s culture of continuous improvement and learning.

What We’re Looking For:

A qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with around 7+ years PQE—ideally with a background in construction law and NEC contracts.
Experience working in private practice or in-house—previous in-house experience is welcome but not essential.
Strong communicator with the ability to translate complex legal concepts into commercial, actionable advice.
Adaptable, autonomous, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
A team player who thrives in a collaborative, purpose-driven setting.

Generous holiday allowance (+ option to buy more)
Share-save scheme, pension, wellbeing support & exclusive discounts
Remote/flexible working
